The current proposal is holistic as it draws together four countries across Europe which are interested in grass root sports and physical activity from a diverse and multilevel perspective. It combines Sports Clubs/Associations and schools with a focus on sporting achievement in a unique way to create evidence-based knowledge, policy proposals and skills. The consortium, based on their expertise, plan to foster analysis of existing practices, suggestions for quality improvements and innovation excellence, internationalisation of sports practice by supporting improvement in trainers’ competence through the development of resources to support all of the stakeholders involved and the provision of grassroots sports and implementation of governance.

The project will encourage and reinforce co-operation with partners from other countries, other fields of education, training and youth. The sporting competition planned will be inclusive to ensure young people with different levels of skills can be involved in the sports. The project will create synergy between the sectors of education, training and youth.

The project looks for new innovative approaches: young practitioners don’t need to perform a movement hundreds of times to acquire it. Too much repetition not only doesn’t help young sports boys girls to develop a good throw, serve or swing; it can actually tire the central nervous system and lead to a bad technique. Quality is more important than quantity when it comes in helping kids under 15 learn sports. When you work with young sportboys/girls, the emphasis should be focused on learning — not teaching.

Utilising the experience and skills of “famous sports men and women” within the European Union through their active involvement in the sports infrastructure and those institutions providing sporting experiences and coaching. Their presence and participation will contribute towards the promotion of sport and the Olympic rules and values which are so valuable to future generations. These ’values’ can be imparted through “master classes” involving these high profile sporting achievers and the experience of participant partners which would cover a variety of topics. The impact of these master classes would be further reinforced with sporting activity. This digital resource will contribute to the learning process and will assist by illustrating putting the theory into practice. The use of sub-titles and voice dubbing will enable translation into English and other partner languages. In order to evaluate the participation of, and impact on, these young people we will introduce the use of e-portfolio. The subject matter range of sporting activity to be included within the library of ‘master classes’ will be derived from an analysis of needs already made but which will be further researched. These master classes will be complemented by sporting activities, promoted by famous and respected sporting personalities, putting theory into practice. From these experiences partners will create “multimedia videos ” that will illustrate the most relevant and innovative aspects we like to implement in sports training. These master classess will be carefuly planned by partners and the personalities participating in the project. the videos will be be used for training and to provide Best Practices to trainers and PE teachers, but also as a resource in any sports training or PE class. The beneficiaries are sport trainers, PE teachers and about all young sports practitioners .

The motivation to achieve excellence is highest when young people have experiences in multiple sports and can make informed choices about the sports in which they want to specialize during adolescence. For young people under age 15, year-round specialization in a single sport is more often associated with developmental risks than rewards. Positive physical, psychological and social development is most likely to occur when young people participate in multiple sports throughout childhood and early adolescence, so that they can discover what they enjoy and can develop the overall physical competence to maximize their success in the sports they choose to play after reaching age 15. Our project will contribute to organize and support youth sports in which practices and competitions focus on learning new skills, gaining confidence in one’s abilities and fostering a lifelong love of physical activities among all participants regardless of their level of physical development and training experience.

Sports will help us to lay the groundwork to prepare individuals for competitive life, understanding the defeat as a learning process and victory as a result of the effort, all through fostering cooperation and group dynamics, understanding the role of each one in the group

Partners will use sport as a phenomenon of the fight against the sedentary practice and unhealthy vices such as alcohol, tobaco, etc. ..

The project will make possible that those who teach future sports trainers, trainers who have experience working people at grassroots level in different sport clubs, institutions in charge of promote sports in their city and teachers who teach phisical education and sports at school come together in order to bring quality in sports training by organizing sports events and implement master classes of high quality that will be shared between partners and disseminated across Europe. The use of ICT is also very important in this project. To motivate students we´ll use videos, this will contrite other trainers and teachers have acess to materials and practices of high quality. To share these experiences partners will use a platfom.

The organization of sports events will contribute to share experiences in order to implement quality in training and young participants get knowledge about what being European means.

Sport and physical activity also have positive benefits on education, we’ll put enphassis in young people learn about the importance of key skills as: team work, resilience, entrepreneurship… it also helps helps young practitioners to become healthier & fitter via sports/physical education.
